‘’ Such painstaking verification is vital in an information environment richer than the world has ever seen’’- This sentence for me is the most important one in reading. This is because we are living in a world where there is bombardment of information as well as misinformation. Therefore, checking the facts is a major action that we must take. As the line suggests we are living in a world where information is richer than ever and so the painful work of verification which news is true and which news is false, agenda based and politically driven. Given the time we are living, there is a need for new journalism given the other parameters are seeing a huge change. ("A New Journalism for Democracy in a New Age", 2021)
